Woollett, Alan I believed Alan lived in Wigston when he was playing for Leicester. I lived there also when I was a kid between 1968-73. I remember once seeing him walking his dog in the park when I was having a kickabout with my brothers.

Woollett, Alan I recall a game against Man U. Records tell me it was probably 7th December '68. Alan dumped George Best rather roughly on to the pitch - left him sitting there complaining to the ref. Alan leaned over him and made a 'supping' motion with his arm - as if to say he'd fallen because he was pissed! It appears his reputation as a tippler was well known even then. I still think it was a foul though - sometimes, when you played against Best, you had to use underhand means to contain him.
