Young, Gerry A great old fashioned wing half who won but a single cap. With his bulldog features and his boxers nose he scared the life out of opposing forwards

Young, Gerry I watched Gerry so many times from the Kop at Hillsborough and I really can't remember him ever seriously putting a foot wrong there. Everyone recalls the 1966 Cup Final, but I don't hold it or anything else against Gerry. One of my all-time heroes.

YOUNG, Gerry Remember late 1961 early 62, sitting opposite Gerry at the Hoyland Branch SWSC Dinner. On hearing his accent, I asked his whereabouts. 'You'll not know it. A little place outside Jarra' called Primrose Hill.' My reply, 'I went through it yesterday on my way from Shields to Uni at Newcastle'. Later my wife won a S&P set in the spot dance with him. Great chap, and a true Wednesday 'Legend'
